Profile:
It all started when I was probably around 12 yrs old when my uncle Steve (golf pro at Friendly Meadows) gave Seth and me a few lessons on the fundamentals of golf. The first day I was instantly hitting the long ball. By the second day my long ball was still incredibly long, however it was going 200 yrds straight as well as 150 yrds to the right. This made me a force to be redoned with on dogleg rights, while beoming useless on the rest of the course. The first 5 years of my golf career I spent most of it under trees, or on adjacent fairways to the right. Though never in ideal spots, this has made me become one of the greatest escape artists on the NNTQT.
My real developement in golf came around the start of high school when i got my first and only membership to Grand View. My friends (current members of NNTQT) were the perfect competetors to focus my skill. Unfortunately, that when I was at the top of my game. I have only gotten worse since then...declined around 2-3 strokes per 18 holes every year. To this day I still have the Tommy Armour irons, but there may be a change before the coming season. We will see if my frugalness will allow it. Definite inspirations to my golf game would be my uncle Steve for getting me started and making me so envious of his noncomplicated and effortless swing. Most of all my inspiration would be my brother. He was always a natural at the sport. I saw his development go from throwing his clubs 30 yrds from frustration as a middle schooler to becoming a graceful scratch golfer.
I wanted to include a favorite golf memory (other than holding The Title for 16 hrs"). It was my senior year of college and I joined the golf team at Ripon. Though I was clearly the worst on the team and only able to participate in one tournament (the home meet at Laconia) I begged my coach to pair me up with the no. 1 golfers in the tournament. This was for one reason. My golf inspiration, Seth, would be golfing in my flight. There was snow on the fairway and the sun was shining. Even " No-Knees" Dan Oberschlake walked the course with us as we competed. I posted a solid 110 or something while Seth got, like, 2nd over all. Great day.
